Biography

Kajal Aggarwal is an Indian actress and model who works predominantly in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi cinema. Born on June 19, 1985, in Bombay (present-day Mumbai), Maharashtra, into a Punjabi Hindu family to Vinay Aggarwal and Suman Aggarwal, she completed her schooling at St. Anne's High School, Colaba. She pursued her graduation in Mass Media specializing in Marketing and Advertising from Kishinchand Chellaram College (KC College), Mumbai. While actively modeling during her college years, she made a brief screen appearance in the Hindi film *Kyun! Ho Gaya Na...* (2004) before making her lead acting debut in Teja's Telugu romantic drama *Lakshmi Kalyanam* (2007) opposite Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, followed by her Tamil debut in *Pazhani* (2008).

Kajal achieved monumental stardom and career-defining critical and commercial success portraying Yuvarani Mitravinda and Indira in S. S. Rajamouli's fantasy action epic *Magadheera* (2009) opposite Ram Charan, earning her first Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu nomination. Over a prominent career spanning two decades and more than 50 feature films, she established herself as one of the highest-paid and most sought-after leading ladies in South Indian cinema. She headlined numerous industry blockbusters including *Darling* (2010), *Brindavanam* (2010), *Mr. Perfect* (2011), Rohit Shetty's action blockbuster *Singham* (2011) opposite Ajay Devgn, *Businessman* (2012), A. R. Murugadoss's *Thuppakki* (2012) opposite Vijay, *Naayak* (2013), Neeraj Pandey's heist thriller *Special 26* (2013), *Baadshah* (2013), *Govindudu Andarivadele* (2014), *Temper* (2015), *Khaidi No. 150* (2017), *Nene Raju Nene Mantri* (2017), *Vivegam* (2017), *Mersal* (2017), the experimental psychological drama *Awe!* (2018), and the comedy blockbuster *Comali* (2019). In 2020, she became the first South Indian actress to be immortalized with a wax statue at Madame Tussauds Singapore.

Following her return to the screen, she starred alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna in Anil Ravipudi's box-office hit *Bhagavanth Kesari* (2023) and headlined the female-led investigative crime thriller *Satyabhama* (2024) portraying ACP Satyabhama IPS. Her filmography extends to S. Shankar's vigilante action films *Indian 2* (2024) and *Indian 3* alongside Kamal Haasan, the mythological fantasy epic *Kannappa* (2025), A. R. Murugadoss's action entertainer *Sikandar* (2025), the social drama *The India Story* (2026), the Tamil action thriller *Garuda* (2026), and joining the ensemble of Nitesh Tiwari's multi-part mythological epic *Ramayana*.
