Anna Schudt (born March 23, 1974, in Constance) is a German actress, voice artist for radio plays and audiobooks, and International Emmy Award winner. She became known to a wider audience primarily through her role as *Tatort* Commissioner Martina Bönisch, which she played between 2012 and 2023. In addition to numerous stage productions—such as *Maria Stuart* at the Residenztheater Munich—she has appeared before the camera in over 70 film and television productions since 2002.
Anna Schudt grew up in the Egg district of Constance as the elder of two daughters born to a biochemist and a body therapist. She gained her first theatrical experience at the Theater Konstanz. At the age of 17, she began her acting training at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich.
In 1994, during the artistic directorship of Dieter Dorn, she became a permanent ensemble member of the Münchner Kammerspiele. This was followed by engagements at the Schaubühne Berlin and, starting in 2001, at the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel (Bavarian State Theater) in Munich. There, her roles included Louise in *Kabale und Liebe* (Intrigue and Love) and Sonya in *Onkel Wanja* (Uncle Vanya). In 2002, she and the ensemble were awarded the Kurt Meisel Prize for their performance in *Hekabe* (Hecuba). In 2006, she was once again honored with the Kurt Meisel Prize for her portrayal of Maria Stuart in the drama of the same name.
In 2010, she played the title role in *Anna Karenina* at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus.
Since 2002, Schudt has regularly appeared before the camera for film and television productions. She made her screen debut in the television drama *Im Chaos der Gefühle* (In the Chaos of Emotions). In 2006, she took on a leading role in the ZDF crime series *Der Kriminalist*. From 2008 to 2011, she played public prosecutor Dr. Nike Reichert in the ARD series *Alles was recht ist*. Having previously appeared multiple times in *Tatort*, she formed the Dortmund investigative duo Faber and Bönisch alongside Jörg Hartmann from 2012 to 2022. Her character, Martina Bönisch, died in the episode *Liebe mich!*, which aired in 2022.
She took on other roles in productions including the ARD series *Eltern allein zu Haus*, the ARTE docuseries *Der Traum von der Neuen Welt*, and the ZDF film *Zwischen Himmel und Hölle*.
For her portrayal of comedian Gaby Köster in the TV movie *Ein Schnupfen hätte auch gereicht*, Schudt received the International Emmy Award for Best Actress in 2018. In 2019, she was awarded the Bavarian Television Prize for *Aufbruch in die Freiheit*. In 2022, she received the Honorary Award of the German Television Crime Festival for her outstanding contributions to the television crime genre.
Anna Schudt has been married to actor Moritz Führmann since 2010. She has three sons and lives with her family in Düsseldorf.
