A graduate of the University of Lima, Rosa María Álvarez Gil currently works actively as a producer on various film projects. A highly versatile filmmaker, she has collaborated with numerous directors since the 1980s. Her short film, Almond Moon (1990), is a pioneering work in Peruvian cinema, portraying the agency of showgirls and drawing parallels with films that share a similar agenda, such as Valeria Sarmiento's Chilean film, A Dream Like Colors (1973).
