Biography

Michael Rainheart (b. 8 December 2000) is an Indonesian producer and filmmaker. His short film My Plastic Mother (2025) won Best International Short Film at Flickerfest, an Academy Award®-qualifying festival, and was nominated for Best Short Film at Festival Film Indonesia 2025. His films have screened at festivals including Leeds, Atlanta, HollyShorts, Beirut, Clermont-Ferrand, SGIFF, JAFF, and QCinema. His latest short, Bathe in Glory (2027), is an Indonesia–Hong Kong collaboration. He is a recipient of the MoMo Film Co. Distribution Grant (2024) and a participant in Platform BUSAN (2024).

Alongside his short-film work, Rainheart has worked on a range of Indonesian feature films, including Home Sweet Loan (2024), Blood Debt (2024), Keluarga Cemara: The Musical (2025), Nobody Loves Kay (2026), and Ratu Malaka (2027).
