Dwyer O'Brien

Biography

Dwyer O’Brien (born July 17, 2002) is a Los Angeles-based American filmmaker.

In 2025, he independently released the 45-minute cult horror film TOXOPLASMA, directed and produced alongside Robert Giles, with both serving as directors and producers. Together, Dwyer O’Brien and Robert Giles co-founded the independent horror studio AWAKENING PRODUCTIONS. O'Brien later directed REFLECTION.MP4, a found footage analog horror short that advanced to the finalist rounds at Square Peg Social, the festival curated by Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen.

His work centers on psychologically driven horror, often blending analog textures with confrontational performances. In addition to directing and acting in his own projects, O’Brien has worked in development at Vertigo Entertainment under producer Roy Lee during the development of WEAPONS (2025).
