Anna Cole

Biography

Anna Cole is a designer and seamstress with a background in conserving and reproducing historical clothing and textiles. As a teenager, she was able to reproduce designs from Victorian-era fashion plates she found in an attic. She currently designs for the Dakota Academy of Performing Arts in Sioux Falls, SD as well as working on a freelance basis. In the past, she worked on Off-Broadway productions in New York City, including modern dance performances and operas. Many performers in New York City also commissioned her for custom wedding gowns, and she makes one-of-a-kind bridal and special occasion wear in addition to costumes. Anna puts an emphasis on sustainable fashion design, using recycled, vintage, and deadstock materials for many of her designs and partnering with organizations such as FabScrap.
