J.M. Frey

Biography

J.M. Frey is an actor, voice actor, lauded science fiction author, and a pop culture scholar. She has appeared in podcasts, documentaries, and on radio and television to discuss all things geeky through the lens of academia.

Born in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, J.M. spent her childhood involved in community theatre and musicals, and eventually went to Brock University for theatre. She graduated with a B.A. in dramatic literature and went on to do voice acting in the region. She moved to Japan to study the language, pop culture, and theatre, and returned to Canada in 2007 to study. She received her MA in Communications and Culture in 2009, and began to work seriously in film as an actor, voice actor, extra, and sometimes crew.
