Nik Petrik (1950 – December 15, 2008) was an American documentary filmmaker, cameraman, and researcher known for his adventurous work in film and exploration. A long‑time member of the Explorers Club of New York, he spent many years traveling the world shooting documentaries and serving as director‑cameraman, including on multiple deep‑sea expeditions to the wreck of the Titanic and Amelia Earhart search missions.

Petrik’s broad interests ranged from photography and film to vintage bicycles, surfing, and environmental technology, and in later years he dedicated himself to promoting solar air‑conditioning solutions. He passed away unexpectedly at the age of 58, leaving behind a wife and daughter.
