Charlie T. Savage

Biography

Charlie T. Savage is a New Orleans native, screenwriter, director, and Navy veteran whose work explores identity, ambition, and how villains are made through the lens of the Black female experience.

Most recently, her scripted work won the Best Screenplay award at the 2026 ESSENCE Film Festival, while her debut feature film, Voices, premiered at the 30th Annual American Black Film Festival, where it received a Best Screenplay nomination. She is also a resident of the Mara Brock Akil Writers’ Colony, a prestigious development program supporting emerging television writers in Hollywood.

A member of Veterans in Media & Entertainment (VME), Charlie is an Associate Producer of the award-winning Sista Brunch Podcast and serves as Media and Communications Chairperson for Hollywood American Legion Post 43. She is a past fellow of the Writers Guild Foundation Veterans Writing Project, the Disability Belongs Entertainment Lab, and the STARZ #TakeTheLead Creators Program.
