Jan Pieter Heije (Amsterdam, March 1, 1809 – Amsterdam, February 24, 1876) was a Dutch physician who became best known for his dedication to poetry and music. Songs by him, such as 'Daar zitten zeven kikkertjes' and the Sinterklaas song 'Zie de maan schijnt door de bomen', live on to this day.
