Brisa de la Cordillera, better known as Brisa Flow, is a singer, musician, songwriter, poet, performer, music producer, activist, and one of the leading voices of Indigenous Futurism in Brazil. The daughter of two Chilean artists and born in Minas Gerais, she began her artistic journey in Belo Horizonte, blending Latin rhythms with rap, electronic music, and neo-soul.
Her debut album, Newen, was released in 2016. Meaning “strength” in the language of the Mapuche, an Indigenous people of the Americas, the album was selected by Estadão as one of the 20 best releases of the year. In 2017, she was named one of Folha de S.Paulo’s artists to watch.
Her second album, Selvagem Como o Vento (Wild Like the Wind), was released in December 2018 and appeared on several year-end lists. It was also nominated by Red Bull’s website as one of the 50 best albums of the year.
Brisa Flow is a recipient of the Olga Mulheres Inspiradoras Award.
