Azadi Hasnat Firoz was a prominent Bangladeshi film director and screenwriter who left an indelible mark on Dhallywood's romantic cinema genre during the late 1990s and 2000s. Born on November 1, 1966, in Pabna, he entered the film industry as an assistant director, learning the craft under veteran filmmakers like Darashiko, Matin Rahman, and Zaharul Haq. Firoz made his directorial debut with the smash hit "Kajer Meye" (1999). Over his career, he became known as a specialist in romantic and family-centric dramas, directing around 10 films starring superstar actress Shabnur. His most notable directorial works include "Bou Shashurir Juddho," "Phuler Moto Bou," "Rongin Rosher Baidani," and "Gram Ganjer Pireeti." Firoz passed away on December 16, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of beloved family entertainment.
