Rafael Montero (born 9 October 1953 in Mexico City) is a Mexican film director and screenwriter associated with the Nuevo Cine Mexicano movement. He studied cinematography at CUEC, part of National Autonomous University of Mexico, and has worked across feature films, television, and documentaries. His films include Cilantro y perejil (1996), El costo de la vida, Corazones rotos, Rumbos paralelos, and Lady Rancho.
