Wound Cities (2019)

Overview

Wound and also wound, as in the past tense of wind. "La Sampaguita" (released in 1910) performed by Banda de la Constabularia Filipina accompanies archival footage of the Philippines being bombed during World War 2, half a century later. The same tune accompanies cities of Metro Manila under construction during Duterte's Build! Build! Build! Infrastructure Program.
