El Algarrobo (1987)

Overview

Very few tree varieties have managed to adapt to the harsh conditions of the Peruvian coastal desert. The carob tree is one of them, being the main resource in the economy of the towns of Batanes, Tabanco, Catacaos, Sullana, and others; to achieve this, it has developed some morphological characteristics such as very long roots that can reach up to 30 meters in length.
