Overview

In 1964, Japan was in the midst of its rapid economic growth. With the Tokyo Olympics and the opening of the Shinkansen, there was no shortage of topics of conversation. Shigeru, the eldest son of the very ordinary Kazama family, was experiencing a forbidden love with Madoka, the daughter of an old provincial family, but she had an arranged fiancé.
