Ophelia Runs ()

Overview

Ophelia goes for her daily run dressed in black, hidden behind sunglasses and absorbed in the familiar rituals of contemporary running culture. Exhausted, she stops in a lush park that seems strangely familiar. She lies down, changes the music in her headphones, and slowly falls asleep. As her body settles into the iconic pose of Millais’ Ophelia, flowers begin to grow around and from her, transforming an ordinary post-run collapse into a living recreation of the painting. Part of an imagined series of everyday episodes — Ophelia Runs, Ophelia Sleeps, Ophelia Shops — the film playfully combines the seriousness of art history with the slightly absurd rituals of modern running culture, reimagining Ophelia as a contemporary figure moving between daily life and painting.
