Saturn (2025)

Overview

Saturn takes real photographs of active-shooter drills in American schools and the aftermath of the Sandy Hook shooting, then uses generative AI to transform them into uncanny moving scenes. Real testimony appears alongside synthetic narratives drawn from “crisis actor” conspiracy theories, until the distinction between document and fabrication becomes increasingly unstable. The question is no longer simply whether an image is real, but what authority it can retain as evidence when images can be convincingly generated and manipulated.
