Remember "Captain Pugwash"? Well this simple and quickly paced sketch style of animation reminded me of those cartoons from my childhood, save for the fact that this isn't so much about alleged double-entendres and more about the food chain. Remember "Captain Pugwash"? Well this simple and quickly paced sketch style of animation reminded me of those cartoons from my childhood, save for the fact that this isn't so much about alleged double-entendres and more about the food chain. The captain and his pirates like to fish. They eat the fish and throw the bones to the ship's cat which promptly descends down a very long staircase to a cabin where it licks the bones. Discarding the skeleton, it waits until the flies gather around the leftovers then squashes them and feeds them to a fish in a bowl that is being enviously watched by a chained-up parrot. As every one starts to get a bit chubbier, though, the pirates start to take a bit of fancy to the cat, the cat to the bird, the bird to the fish, the cat to the fish and all whilst the captain hopes to keep his collection of pets safe and sound. Fat chance? It's quite good fun this as it takes a fairly permanent approach to the concept of what goes around comes around. Luckily there appear to be plenty of fish in the sea, else you'd have to wonder how long before cannibalism set in.
