Overall, the film does leave it up to audience to decide how they feel about the whole story, although it definitely wants you to sympathise with Bryon and the change he goes through. ‘Skin’ is a film worth checking out to start a conversation about these issues and whether a racist can really be changed.

First and foremost, this is an extremely hard movie to watch. I find that Jamie Bell and Guy Nattiv have managed to truly capture 1) the psychology of an abusive, dictatorial gang leader, 2) the psychology of his followers, 3) the psychology of an abused, trapped victim who's grown to learn he wants out, and finally 4) the absolutely incredible amount of patience and love that it takes to guide someone from the situation of the the first 3 points… read the rest.
