This is of course social and political satire, and it is sad how much of it rings true. It can be difficult to satirize the excesses of the rich and famous — or even the redneck poor — and the social media juggernaut.

Don't Look Up (2021) joins Idiocracy (2006) as satire about how the corrupt, idiot savant ruling elite controls the ignorant and gullible public. The difference is, while Idiocracy is absurd and gross with cheap laughs, Don't Look Up is an intellectual lampoon with a profound, psychological and phylosophical structured commentary.
