Overview
France, 1870s. Rosalie is a young woman unlike any other. She hides a secret: she was born with a face and body covered in hair. She’s concealed her peculiarity all her life to stay safe, shaving to fit in. Until Abel, an indebted bar owner unaware of her secret, marries Rosalie for her dowry. There's something quite unnerving about this film. It all starts when the young "Rosalie" (Nadia Tereszkiewicz) is essentially dowered out to bar owner "Abel" (Benoît Magimel) so her father can be rid of her and so that her new husband can be rid of his debts.
